Last night was Hilo’s big Black and White Night, which is a pretty big block party. All the local shops and services stay open late, get involved in the night’s “treasure hunt” and host local bands that play on the street curbs and right inside some bigger establishments. Many places offered free pupus (appetizers) too! Lots of people stuck with the theme and dressed in all black and white, some people even wore elaborate costumes… it was pretty neat:
